Branding + Custom Built Website | Nashville, TN
Oh Crumbs Bakery is a phenomenal bakery based in Nashville, Tennessee. And when I say phenomenal, I really mean it. Every cake is custom made from scratch, and as a customer, you can get as creative as you’d like on the flavors and overall design! Definitely my dream kind of bake shop! Think rose and pistachio cake or an IPA-infused buttercream. The cakes are gorgeous and they taste even better.
Oh Crumbs Bakery came to me looking to level up their brand and website with a complete redesign. If you know me, then you probably know desserts are my love language, so this project started with rushes of inspiration. The goal was to match where the business is heading and attract the clients who want VIP treatment and unique and beautiful cakes. From the beginning, the design goal was to convey a masterful brand that is both inviting and luxurious.
THE BRANDING + LOGO DESIGN
I presented two brand concepts to Kitty (the business owner), and we went with the second option - a sleek, minimal layer cake design with pops of pattern and texture. We are both over-the-moon excited about the final brand! The final brand consistent of 8 different logo variations perfect for any use on any medium. With the use of a serif font mixed with a script, we were able to convey the feeling of a luxurious, high-end experience. The logo mark itself is a 4 layer cake consisting of a polka dot layer, marble layer (my favorite!), striped layer, and solid layer. The four different layer looks show the creativity of the cakes Oh Crumbs Bakery creates. Rose gold and marble were the textures utilized in the logo and all over the website!

"I love how my expertise and niche are reflected in my new logo and branding. The color palette has been modified slightly and certainly the whole feel of my brand is much more in line of where my business is and is aiming. It feels refreshed and rejuvenated, polished and chic, and exactly what I was hoping for. It feels so much more 'me!'"
THE WEBSITE
For the website design, the goal was CHIC, CHIC, CHIC. I designed with a minimal romantic vibe with a lot of marble and rose gold throughout. The website experience matches the amazing experience you get as a customer of Oh Crumbs Bakery. It’s fun, yet elegant. It’s extremely interactive, and it speaks to exactly what the ideal client is looking for: a show-stopping, memorable dessert.

"I love the 'cleanliness' of it, how smooth and inviting it feels, how much it reflects what I hope my clients feel about working with me. Namely: expertise and friendliness combined with luxury and flexibility. I love that my excitement about cakes comes through in a professional manner."
To give you a peek into the project from Kitty's perspective, I asked her a couple more questions! Here's what she had to say:
How do you think this updated brand and website will impact your business?
"I believe this is what my business needs to get to the next step. My previous brand and website didn’t feel polished or very professional. They didn’t engender confidence for the client I was targeting. I feel I wasn’t reflected well in my previous website. But this new one??? My pastry and sugar artistic chops are showcased in an exciting and welcoming way that I believe will speak volumes to people looking at my site, that will make them want to keep looking and reach out to talk to me. I can’t wait to see what others think of it, and am so excited of how much better of a reflection of my work it will be."
Were you surprised by any part of the project?
"I was surprised when Elizabeth brought in colors I hadn’t thought of, all based upon the mood board we made. Once she pointed out the trends, it was obvious they were there - but she saw them, not me! That’s just one example of a surprise in this project… there were others, of course, but the best was just how easy it’s been to leave it all in Elizabeth’s capable hands! After struggling to do web design stuff myself for far too long, it was such a relief to see it all come together so much better than I could have done it - and of course, in a fraction of the time."
Did we successfully accomplish your design goals?
"I have loved working with Elizabeth. She’s been so helpful every step of the way and I am eager to pull her in on other projects in the future."
