This month in honor of Mother’s Day, I’m sharing some big wins from my clients who are mommas!
These women are FIERCE. They are running successful businesses, serving their clients and customers well, while living the mom-life too. Two of these ladies (Katy Harvey and Gretchen Saffles) are actually both pregnant right now! I look up to each of these women as major inspirations, as I someday hope to run my business with little ones running around the house. I am honored to have been able to work alongside these women to help them grow their business through branding and/or website design!
Each of these women run totally unique businesses all over the United States, and even one in Canada! From running bakeries to ministries and media companies, these women are SKILLED. Let’s dive into a little bit about each of their businesses and wins they are celebrating this year!
Kitty Waters - Oh Crumbs Bakery
Kitty is a client that forever amazes me! She runs a bakery here in Nashville, which means we get to see each other in real life, which is always a joy! The desserts she creates are literal works of art and taste as amazing as they look. Kitty is a momma to 3 little ones and runs her successful bakery full-time. The story of how she started her business is a really unique one. Kitty is a scientist by training who started baking for birthdays when she became a mom. She was soon being asked by her friends to make cakes for their parties, and that slowly grew to what is now an amazing business. (Read her story on her website, here!)
Recently, she booked her first celebrity client - how exciting! She also started renting a beautiful space in Nashville to meet with her customers and has increased her prices and stuck to it! In addition to raising her prices, she’s been able to do the hard task of saying “no” when a project doesn’t excite her or she’s too booked up to accept it. Kitty has been able to maintain a greater family-work balance - which is ALWAYS the goal. I’m so proud of this lovely lady! Gretchen Saffles - Well-Watered Women
Gretchen is a momma to her sweet son, Nolan, with baby boy #2 on the way! She founded the ah-mazing company Well-Watered Women with the mission to equip women to know Jesus through studying the Bible. I am honored to get to serve as the marketing manager for Gretchen’s business and to have been able to redesign her brand and website, which we launched earlier this month! This year, Well-Watered Women launched a lot of amazing products with even MORE exciting things to come. The new Give Me Jesus Journal was re-released with a totally gorgeous new design + a line of products to help women put the “word before the world” each day. Well-Watered Women will also be launching a devotional designed for college girls very soon! And of course, launching the new Well-Watered Women website this month was a HUGE accomplishment. It came packed with tons of new content such as 3 freebies, a Bible study challenge, a fun quiz, and so much more. It’s an honor to get to work alongside Gretchen on the website design and in the day-to-day marketing for Well-Watered Women! Brittany Krupnik - Blissful Design Studio
Brittany is a sweet momma of 3 with a major eye for gorgeous design. She owns the interior design company, Blissful Design Studio based in Arizona. She can literally turn any room (no matter how seemingly hideous) into a gorgeous spot that you want to cozy up in! Recently, Blissful Design Studio has had some major wins! They were approached by a major media publication company for a multi-page feature. They have been able to attract their dream clients and are raising their prices to make sure that they are working with clients who truly appreciate their work. Three cheers for that! Brittany and her team also were able to do a styled photo shoot for a friend who is launching a blog, which is a dream project for them! Katy Krupnik - The Tidy Cottage
Katy owns the home organizing company, The Tidy Cottage! We were introduced through her sister-in-law, Brittany, and I had the pleasure of getting to do the branding and website design for both of these lovely women. Katy has had a lot of big wins this year from teaching at conferences to being featured in a magazine! Katy has been a guest on the local morning TV show, Your Life Arizona 3 times this year, and was also featured in Chandler Living (a local magazine) with a whole article about her business. She’s also been teaching at Pinners Conference in San Diego this year, and sold way more kits than she anticipated. Katy Harvey - Katy Harvey, Eating Disorder Specialist
Katy Harvey is an eating disorder specialist and registered dietitian based in Kansas City. I had the pleasure of building a website for Katy just a few months ago to turn her old blogging website to a full-fledged website for her business! Katy is a mother to a sweet boy, and currently pregnant with baby number two! The big things Katy told me that she’s celebrating is #1 her new website because it’s something she’s really proud to share with the world. Here’s what she said makes her so excited about her new website: “The website has been a dream of mine for a long time and it finally came together, and it’s gorgeous! It is helping people find me more easily and get to know me better. It also represents my philosophy and the type of work that I do.” Katy is also celebrating that her business is stable enough and her income is sufficient enough for her to go on 6 to 8-week maternity leave without worrying if clients will be there when she returns. Karen Hester - Visionary Media
Karen is a long time friend, fellow yogi, and she and her husband are involved with Young Life, just like me and Adam! Karen and her husband, Andrew, started Visionary Media just last year, and it’s been awesome watching them grow. Karen’s goal was to create a product and service that really sets them apart as a company. They have had repeat clients this year, which was a huge goal! Recently, Karen has gotten to do a lot of work with her dream client with several projects, and the potential for even more projects in the future! Way to go, Karen! Tonya Wanner - Tonya Wanner Photography
This lady brings so much light to everything she does! Although I ’ve never met Tonya in real life (she’s all the way in Canada after all), I feel like I really got to know her and who she is through working with her to redesign her website. Tonya recently launched her dream project. She’s focusing her photography direction on a new venture called YXE Dance Release! She had wanted to start this for a while but didn’t know how to go about it. She let go of her fears and jumped right in! In this project, Tonya is photographing dancers candidly, while they dance to music. She’s able to show their love of dancing in a unique way that comes out when they are dancing all out!
