Are you taking advantage of affiliate marketing in your business? You should be! I’ve noticed a trend over the last couple of years where more and more businesses are offering affiliate type programs. How cool is that? It feels rare now to find a company that is NOT doing some type of rewards-based system.
You might be thinking, “What is affiliate marketing?” By definition, it is a “type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought in by the affiliate's own marketing efforts.”
How to Make Sharing Affiliate Links Easier
How do you promote your affiliate links in a way that is easy for YOU, the person you’re sharing with, and good for the company you’re promoting? Well, I got you! I’m here to tell you about the system I use for remembering all of my affiliate links and promoting the companies I love to work with. (Yep, I’m able to remember every affiliate link I ever share.) Affiliate programs are huge for my business and brought in multiple five figures in profits in 2019 alone. This method is a way that I make sharing these links easy and effective.
How to Remember Your Affiliate Links
This is the best hack for remembering all of your affiliate links with ease. Create links that you can remember! It’s super simple. You need a short links creator. This is where you take a long URL and transform it into a permanent link that is shorter and easier to remember.
You could do this using something like Bit.ly, but if you are a business owner and have a website, I recommend taking it a step further and creating a domain-based link that redirects to the affiliate link. I use the free WordPress Plugin “Pretty Links”. This is great because not only can you create domain-based links that you can actually remember, you can also see analytics for how often people are clicking this link. How to Create a Shortcut for Your Links
To take it one step further in the “ease of use” department, you can add your website address as a shortcut on your iPhone. This will also create a shortcut on your laptop/computer, if they are all Apple products. It’s AMAZING! I do this for my website URL, my emails, my home address even, and so much more.
How to set up iPhone shortcuts:
- Go to your settings.
- Select “general”
- Select “keyboards”
- Then, select “text replacement” (You can also skip those steps and just search for “text replacement” in your settings.)
- Click the little “+” button in the top right corner.
- Now, you set the “phrase” and the “shortcut”. The phrase is what you want it to become and the shortcut is what you’ll type to get it.
Click save and you’re good to go! Now anytime you type in that shortcut, it will expand to the phrase.
Click here for Mac computer directions. You’ll want to create a shortcut that is something you wouldn’t normally type as a word or as a typo, so that you don’t accidentally create the phrase.

This makes it so quick when you are sending a link in direct messages on Instagram, a text message, or a Facebook group. Just type your shortcut for your website, type the affiliate name, and there’s your link! It’s 2 seconds of your time — so easy!
There’s your hack for always knowing your affiliate links. Use Pretty Links or another link shortener to come up with the links at your URL. Then create a shortcut for your website on your devices so you can always type it easy.
