I almost didn’t do a 3rd trimester photoshoot… it felt like a lot of work in the midst of running my business, prepping for maternity leave, baby showers, and so many other things. But, I did one, and boy, am I so glad I did!
I’ll cherish these photos forever, and it was so fun capturing my growing bump in this “professional way” for my first pregnancy. Scroll on to see my favorite images from this photoshoot.
We worked with Brass Penny Photography for these images, and did a sunrise session in her backyard and indoor boudoir studio. I did about 4 total outfits, and I’ll link to exactly where I got everything below! I hope you find some maternity photo inspiration from these and that you’ll do a photoshoot to capture your own pregnancy journey!
Maternity Session Outfit #1:
PinkBlush Beige Chiffon Bell Sleeve Maternity Maxi Dress
This dress from Pink Blush has been a favorite of mine this pregnancy! I have it in beige, but it also comes in red. It’s perfect for a sophisticated baby shower look or a maternity session — I wore mine to my church baby shower and for this photo session! It’s super flattering, not see-through at all, and great for that bigger third trimester bump!
To go with the dress, I wore these Anne Klein platform wedge heels from DSW. These have been a staple all of my pregnancy. They are forreal heels, but comfortable enough to walk in, even with my growing bump!
Maternity Session Outfit #2:
Pink Blush Cream Floral Applique Maternity Flounce Dress
This dress might be my favorite clothing purchase all of my pregnancy. I’ve gotten so much use out of it. I wore it to one of my baby showers, on date nights, and for this maternity session! It’s flattering, fun, and I don’t think it’s actually a maternity dress, making it perfect for postpartum life too. At first I struggled with how short it is. (Tall gals, beware! It’s very short.) But, I got more comfortable in it after asking some girlfriends for feedback, and everyone agreed that the length worked, especially since it has a high neckline. I also wore it with heels despite the shorter length and felt fabulous!
(I’m wearing a medium and I’m 5’4 and 34 weeks pregnant in these photos. I sized up to get a little more length.)
If you want this same vibe, but a different style, Pink Blush has some other options too. Check out this thin-strapped one that is made of the same material.
To go with the dress, I wore those same Anne Klein platform wedge heels mentioned with the last outfit. These seriously go with everything!
Here it is in a baby shower look!...
Maternity Session Outfit #3:
Coral Floral Ruffle Sleeveless Maternity Mini Dress
This dress from Pink Blush is so fun and feminine. It’s also longer than the dress above making it perfect for taller women and a very pregnant bump! I love the orange and pink tones to it. I’ve worn this out and about plenty, but also felt like it was the perfect look for the more “boudoir style” photos I took in Brasspenny’s indoor studio.
(I’m wearing a small, and I’d call this dress oversized if anything, but pretty TTS!)
Maternity Session Outfit #4:
Fitted White Amazon Dress with Kimono
This Floral Kimono has been a staple all pregnancy! It goes with everything. The exact one I have is no longer in stock, but here’s a similar one.
I got the white tank top dress from Amazon. It’s actually a clubbing dress, funny enough. It’s a little see through, but not too bad and definitely works for this type of photoshoot. Although, I don’t think I’d wear the dress in white out and about anywhere. It’s only $10 - $15 depending on your size! I got mine in a medium.
Outfits Recap:
- Cream floor length dress
- Cream flounce short dress
- Coral sleeveless short dress
- White tank top bodycon dress
- Blue maternity kimono
- Anne Klein wedge heels
- Gold earrings
I hope you'll enjoy shopping some of these links and that you have so much fun in your maternity session!
